Woopi for Whoopi

Okay, to tell you the truth, I don't really care much about Whoopi Goldberg being on The View because I don't watch it, but when I hear that she's defending dog fighting I just want to go out and run over every copy of Sister Act (one and two). Mainly because of her comments but then it was a really crappy movie too! Did you know she has an oscar?? That blew me away when I read that. Where was I that year? Was it for Color Purple?

Anyway, I just can't really see how anyone can defend Michael Vick. I don't even think Michael Vick is defending Michael Vick? Is it Whoopi's job just because she's the only black woman on morning television? Does she feel like she has some obligation to set things straight? I don't feel that because I'm white I should defend Ted Bundy because he had a bad childhood or something like that! Should I defend Jeffrey Dahmer because Wisconsin is really boring for us white folks so we have to take up serial killing as a hobby? I also think it's a very strange thing to say that dog fighting is a southern tradition. I lived in Florida for 10 years and never once did someone say to me, Doc, would you like to go over yonder to see some dogs get killed and bet on it? This is ridiculous. There is simply no way to defend his actions. There is no possible way to say that what he did is in any way right. Killing animals is just wrong any way you stack it. I'm not some tree-hugging animal rights activist, I just think that if someone does something really hideous then they should pay the price and people like Goldberg should keep their mouth's shut about it. Would she like it if someone came in her house and took her dogs for a fight? I doubt it.
